Larry Sik was a contestant on Season 2 of Hell's Kitchen. He ranked in 11th place.
Larry was a short man, but was very nice towards, and liked by, his fellow contestants. However, he did not have a high level of self-confidence, and was carrying a lot of stress.
Season 2 Edit
Larry served potato crab cakes with a little Asian flair and peppers as his signature dish. It was deemed too hot and undercooked by Ramsay. After the challenge, he was placed in the blue team because Ramsay declared that for the first time ever, the teams are divided by gender, men in the blue team, women in the red team.
The blue team finished prep hours after the red team, and Larry declared he only slept 45 minutes that night. During dinner service, he was on the fish station. An hour and a half into service, he did not have much to do, so he stood still, waiting. Ramsay told him to be a little bit more lively instead of staying at one spot like the Statue of Liberty. Three hours into service, Ramsay shut down the service after some customers shouted "I want my food!" all over the dining room. After Ramsay reminded him about his "Statue of Liberty" impression, he declared the blue team winners for serving a few entrées out, compared to the red team's zero. But, Ramsay reminded them they did not win.
After a brutal wake up call where the Sous Chefs were playing cowbells, the contestants were asked to get outside immediately. Arrived there, Ramsay told Larry he saw no passion in him during the previous service. Ramsay asked him if he does have passion, and he answered yes. After that, all the contestants were tasked to get in the dumpsters to collect the trash from the last service.
During the Steak Challenge, despite saying he was happy about the challenge as he was comfortable with knives, Larry gave the worst overall performance, with zero steaks acceptable. Because of him, the blue team lost the challenge 11-12, and were punished by cutting all the steaks for the next dinner service. During the punishment, he was so ashamed about his poor performance that he did not even want to be with his team, and did the punishment apart from them.
After the punishment, Larry jumped in the hot tub, where the women were already in, saying women was his downfall. During the night, he felt ill, sweating and having trouble breathing. He called the medics, who rushed him to the hospital by ambulance. The next morning, he called the remaining contestants on the phone from the hospital telling them he would not be returning to Hell's Kitchen. He finished by saying to the contestants to stay strong and be a unit.
Ramsay gave no comment on Larry's departure, and he received the burning picture sequence during the fourth episode.
