Gabriel "Gabe" Gagliardi was a contestant on Season 2 of Hell's Kitchen. He ranked in 10th place.

Personality Edit

Gabe was a very nice and sweet guy, but maybe a little too much, as he did not know how to run his station, and lacked the passion.

Season 2 Edit

Episode 1Edit

Gabe served fish as his signature dish; with no further information. When he tasted Garrett's meat dish, he found it overcooked. After that, Ramsay confirmed him, and praised his honesty. When he tasted his dish, Ramsay said his fish was so raw it could be called sushi. After the challenge, he was placed in the blue team because Ramsay declared that for the first time ever, the teams are divided by gender, men in the blue team, women in the red team.

The blue team finished prep hours after the red team, and did not sleep much that night. During dinner service, Gabe was on the meat station. An hour into service, he helped prevent a fire in the kitchen by turning Tom's stove off. Two hours into service, the kitchen moved to entrées, but he said to Ramsay he needed 10 minutes as his oven was not hot enough and his Wellingtons were not well done. Three hours into service, Ramsay shut down the service after some customers shouted "I want my food!" all over the dining room. The blue team won the dinner service for serving a few entrées out, compared to the red team's zero. But, Ramsay reminded them they did not win.

Episode 2Edit

Following elimination, Gabe talked with Garrett about eliminating the women one by one before eliminating each other.

After a brutal wake up call where the Sous Chefs were playing cowbells, the contestants were asked to get outside immediately. All the contestants had to get in the dumpsters to collect the trash from the last service. During the Steak Challenge, Gabe managed to get three acceptable steaks. It was a great performance, and he was proud of himself as he had never done this before. Unfortunately, his team lost the challenge 11-12, and were punished by cutting all the steaks for the next dinner service. When the red team came back from their reward, he joked about how he would love to transfer to their team as they are a member down.

The next morning, after a phone call from a hospitalized Larry, he learned, along with the other contestants, that he would not return to the competition. Gabe wished him to get better.

During dinner service, Gabe was on the appetizer station. When Ramsay called the first ticket, he asked him if he needed two quails to go with it. Ramsay schooled him on his rudeness, and told him no quail has been called. After that, he dedicated his station to everybody, without willing to. Ramsay schooled him on his laid-back behavior, but after that, he managed to send acceptable appetizers out. Three hours into service, Ramsay made him and his team stand in front of the pass to have a look in the dining room. When almost every customer left, Ramsay shut down both kitchens. After service, Ramsay questioned his ability to multi-task. His team lost the dinner service, and Garrett was named "Best of the Worst".

Gabe was not nominated for elimination by Garrett, but was eventually called down by Ramsay, and joined Giacomo after Tom was sent back in line. He was eliminated for his lack of passion, fight back, and the fact that he allowed his teammates to take advantage of him.

Ramsay's comment: "It's absolutely crucial in Hell's Kitchen to have finesse and passion. It was pretty obvious that Gabe had no passion."

  • "We have six, so you guys are missing somebody?"
  • "A million things is going on, and I couldn't handle it by myself."
  • (After being eliminated) "Chef said I was too much of a sweet guy, but you don't have to be loud, and rude, and obnoxious to run a kitchen. I definitely don't think Chef Ramsay made the right decision."
