This is not going to break me. This is far worse than anything Ramsay could ever fucking say to me.

Andrea Heinly was a contestant on Season 5 of Hell's Kitchen. She ranked in 3rd place.

Season 5[]

Episode 1[]

Main article: Episode 501 - 16 Chefs Compete

In the series biggest turnout, thousands of chefs auditioned for Hell's Kitchen. However, only three hundred arrived at Hell’s Kitchen and met Jean-Philippe and Ramsay. Out of the three hundred, sixteen were selected to compete. Jean-Philippe began calling out the chefs chosen to compete. Andrea was the fifth of the sixteen called to compete.

During the Signature Dish Challenge, Andrea was the thirteenth contestant to have her dish tasted by Ramsay. She made a rib eye with rice and carrot sticks and it was praised for its flavor. After hearing about the grand prize, she said she wanted to stand next to the big boys. After the challenge, Ramsay asked both teams to decide on a team name for the opening night. She brought up spice rack as a name, and the women found it funny enough to use it.

During prep, Andrea got annoyed by Lacey's constant complaints. When both teams were lined up, the red team revealed their name was Team Saffron. It was later changed to Spice Racks after Colleen's request. When Lacey and Coi got into an argument, she told the former to calm down. During dinner service, she was on the garnish station with Paula. She was not shown much due to not making too many mistakes. The red team won the dinner service because of Carol's great performance as a waitress.[1]

The following day at 5:49 AM, a marching band came into the dorms and played loudly, and the chefs woke up. Sous Chefs Scott and Gloria ordered the chefs to get downstairs, and they were led outside to find Ramsay. Wanting both teams to learn how to respect their products, Ramsay had them go to their crates and gather all the scallops into their colored buckets. Before the Scallop Cleaning Challenge, Andrea sat out to even the teams at seven members each. The red team lost the challenge 35-36 and they had to prepare a raw bar for the next dinner service. During the punishment, she accused Lacey of isolating herself from the team due to her attitude and wondered if sleeping in would improve her mood. After Lacey came downstairs six hours into the punishment, she said everyone was against the former now, thanks to her attitude.

During dinner service, Andrea was at the appetizer station along with Carol. After Carol burned the garlic for the risotto, she deemed the former flustered. After the second attempt was rejected, she tried to get refocused and thought she had to take the reigns no matter what station she was on. Near the end of service, she got dismayed when she heard Carol not ready on her dish, and called it pathetic. The red team lost the dinner service and they were asked to nominate two of their teammates for elimination. During deliberation, she knew Carol did not do as well as she thought when the latter harped on Lacey's attitude. Regardless, Andrea knew one of them was going home.

Andrea was not nominated for elimination, and was seen wheeling an injured Ji to the line up. When Ji announced her wish to leave, she tried to interject that even an injured former was better than both Colleen and Lacey. Still, she helped Ji to leave by pushing her wheelchair to the door held by Charlie, while the other contestants gave Ji an emotional standing ovation.[2]

Episode 3[]

Main article: Episode 503 - 14 Chefs Compete

Back at the dorms, Andrea was distraught that Ji left as she was a better chef than any of them so far despite being injured. She called Ji a warrior and did everything she could that night, calling the latter's departure rough. Then, she told Lacey that she was only lucky to be around still and that she better prove herself. Still, Lacey argued back and said she had just turned on her bitch switch. However, she retorted that Lacey was hitting it every time. She felt that Lacey only shined when she wanted to and failed every overtime. She went as far as asking why Lacey did not twist her ankle instead of Ji. Lastly, she and LA asked Lacey if she deserved to stay.

The following morning, the Sous Chefs woke up the contestants at 6 AM with cowbells and told them to get dressed and out the front door to the SUVs. The barely awoke chefs were driven to an unknown place. It turned out to be a meat processing plant and the chefs took a tour of the place, with Sous Chef Scott showing them where the beef cuts on a cow were located. During the Meat & Cow Challenge, Andrea was the first person of her team to do the meat identification. Despite being comfortable labelling her meat cuts and thinking she had it, she finished with two cuts wrong. While she did not participate in part two, she saw Lacey move things around just for the sake of it, which was no different than her performance in the kitchen.

The red team lost the challenge, and had to carry two large beef cuts along with eating cow offal. As the women went to the dorms to await their punishment, Andrea called her team a mess as they got slaughtered for the third time. During the punishment, the women were shocked by the size of the beef, and she compared it to a scene from The Godfather. While cutting the beef apart, she stated she did not want to do any more punishments after that one. During lunch, she vomited a lot as the offal proved too much for, making Colleen see her go through the worst of them all. Still, she tearfully proclaimed that it would not break her. Seeing that made Coi more determined to eat the offal while she told the women that they must work together more to win challenges. She said she had never been this humiliated in her life before puking again, while the rest of the women ate the rest for her.

During prep, Andrea gave her team a pep talk so they would be fired up. It worked as Colleen refused to drop the ball, and LA said they would not stop after their punishment the previous day. During the Steakhouse double dinner service, she was a waitress for the first seating. She was not seen much during it. During the second seating, she was at the meat station with Carol. As the men were taking orders, she called them out to hurry up but stopped when she remembered there were customers. Thirty minutes left into the second seating, she began working on her steaks. The women were able to pick up the pace, and their entrées were coming out. She was glad to be on meat that night as she was rocking out steak for that night. She continued to send steaks out into the dining room before Ramsay ended service. The red team won the dinner service.[3]

Episode 4[]

Back at the dorms, Andrea thought Robert did a great job of impersonating Ramsay. The following morning, both teams lined up in front of Ramsay, asking each team who their strongest chef was. Carol answered that either she or the former were the strongest chefs for the women.

Before the Football Team & Cheerleaders Breakfast Service Challenge, Andrea called the cheerleaders motivating. She was at the hash brown station and said the men did not know Hell's Kitchen until they lost a challenge. The red team won the challenge and she was excited to finally win a challenge. They were rewarded with a Beverly Hills-style camping experience. After Coi told the women the blue team's argument, she hoped that the men's argument would cause them to crumble. During the reward, she was happy not to be in Hell's Kitchen.

When the red team came back from their reward, Andrea relished in the men's punishment. Before service, she noticed that the blue team did not make the tomato butter sauce for her station yet, and told Sous Chef Gloria about it. During dinner service, she was on the fish station. At one point, she came into the blue kitchen asking for the tomato butter sauce, but Ben revealed he did not have it ready. That pissed her off, and Ramsay asked Ben if he was trying to sabotage the red kitchen. Ben sent over the women’s tomato butter sauce, but a quick taste from her and Ramsay revealed that the sauce was too salty. Then, she took the lead in the red kitchen and gave orders to Lacey and Coi on their dishes. Andrea thought she had a natural leadership skill, and it worked; the women were finally able to send out more than half of their appetizers. Both teams were named joint losers and they were asked to nominate two each.

Andrea was not nominated for elimination. After Seth's elimination, she said goodbye to Lacey as the latter was reassigned to the blue team.[4]

Episode 5[]

Back at the dorms, Andrea told the Blues Brothers that Lacey was their problem and thanked the kitchen gods for listening to her prayers.

During the Asian Fusion Challenge, Andrea took the lead for the red team during the shopping due to her loud voice. However, she ignored her team’s suggestions, making Carol comment that the loudest voices did not make the best leaders. As she continued to bark out orders, LA told her to shut up as it was annoying. She was paired with Colleen on the meat dish. At one point, she struggled to explain to Ramsay what their dish was, and the latter reminded them not to make them boring. When Tanya Steele came to guest judge, she was psyched as every chef knew Epicurious. They were the final pair from the red team to have their dish judged and they went up against the pair of J and Giovanni. She was nervous about competing in the tiebreaker before presenting a Kobe beef sashimi brushed with Korean-style sauce. While the beef was delicious, the sauce was overpowered by the red pepper flakes. Still, they won that round over Giovanni and J. The red team won the challenge 2-1. They had their dishes featured on the Epicurious website, and won an Asian-inspired day which included sumo wrestling and sake tasting.

During dinner service, Andrea was at the meat station. At one point, she hid burnt Wellingtons and kept them from her teammates. When she said she was refiring the Wellingtons, but Ramsay soon found her wasted meat stash and was furious with her. Ramsay had everyone on the red team see the burnt Wellingtons she hid and threw one against the oven. She knew she was doomed as Ramsay was upset by her choice. Later, she said she needed four more minutes on her Wellingtons, but Ramsay said she told the same thing earlier. She noted her timings were off and did not communicate properly with Carol on the fish station. Carol had no idea what she thought for numbers, and Ramsay ordered her to work together with the team. When Colleen's dessert came back for being raw, she called that poor judgement on the latter's part and could not believe her.

Both teams were named joint losers and LA was named "Best of the Worst" for the red team. During deliberation, Andrea admitted she had a terrible performance. She told LA she would not resent her for nominating her.

Andrea was LA's nominee for elimination and joined J from the blue team. During her plea, she wanted to go back on meat to prove she could run it. She survived elimination. While being dismissed, she knew she could win despite a bad night.[5]

Episode 6[]

Main article: Episode 506 - 11 Chefs Compete

Back at the dorms, Andrea reassured a guilty feeling LA that she made the right decision in nominating her. She said that being up for elimination has humbled her, and she refused to let it happen again.

During the Bar Mitzvah Planning Challenge, Andrea asked Coi what she would do with the brisket in the red kitchen, and the latter said she was going to barbecue it. When Carol wanted to use blue cheese for the stuffed burger, she wondered if a milder cheese was more appropriate. Still, Carol ignored her as the former wanted to sew her lips for talking too much. Coi echoed her concerns as she got annoyed by Carol's stubbornness. She presented the red team's chicken noodle soup, was the first person from the red team to have her dish judged, and went up against Giovanni. She presented the red team's spring chicken soup with spring vegetables and pasta. Although Max enjoyed it, she lost that round to Giovanni.

The red team lost the challenge 1-2, and they were punished by decorating the dining room for the following night’s service based on Francisco the Party Planner's instruction. Andrea got mad at Carol because she suggested milder cheeses earlier. During the punishment, she was annoyed by Carol's constant instructions while the latter revealed that they faked getting along since the beginning. Carol accused her of being a stubborn leader. As the bickering continued, an annoyed Paula called it a headache as it was ruining the morale.

During the Bar Mitzvah dinner service, Andrea was at the appetizer station with Paula. She sent up her first orders of risotto, but Ramsay wanted more mushrooms in them. Carol offered to help out, but she said she did not want any help. That annoyed Carol as she felt she was not a team player, but she said she had to relax and cook like normal. Andrea's next attempt was accepted, but Ramsay told her to wake up. When the red team did the horah dance as part of their second punishment, she knew there would be hell to pay if they dropped Max. Near the end of service, she and Carol got into an argument over the fries as the latter said they were not ready. Sous Chef Gloria stopped them before it would escalate, but Carol said she wanted to punch her in the face. While clearing down, she apologized to Carol about their fry argument. However, Carol thought she was trying to make her look bad due to the risotto incident and the former said she wanted to punch her in the neck. That angered her, and she called Carol a bitch.

The red team lost the service, but Ramsay named Andrea the "Best of the Worst" as she bounced back on her earlier mistake that night and told her to think of two people for elimination. During deliberation, she confronted Carol about her threatening to punch her in the throat, but the latter argued she was joking even though she still stood by her word. Carol argued that she was treating her like a co-worker, but she snarkily said she felt bad for the former's co-workers. Another argument occurred between them, while Paula felt no one stood out that night. She was surprised that the rest of her team did not like that she was the “Best of the Worst,” and she had no idea who to nominate.

When Ramsay asked Andrea who her nominees were, she said she had no idea and called it challenging to single out people for mistakes that reflected on herself. An irritated Ramsay asked her if she was mad as he gave her the responsibility to make the commitment. Eventually, she named Coi her first nominee for elimination and LA as her second. She claimed she nominated LA because the latter was cooking more like a line cook and not as a leader. While Coi, LA, and Carol tried to convince Ramsay she was the weakest chef on the red team, it failed. While being dismissed, she was angry that everyone pointed fingers at her and called it uncalled for.[6]

Episode 7[]

Back at the dorms, Andrea was still feeling the weight of being “Best of the Worst”, saying she would never wish anybody to be in her shoes. Carol asked her why she did not nominate her, but she said she did not want to base her nominations on their argument and that Carol was a little stronger than LA. That comment did not sit well with LA, but Paula agreed with her when she said that LA had not shown any passion in the last few services. After Carol and LA left to be alone, Giovanni reminded her and Paula that it was still a team effort and they must put aside their differences.

Before the Leftovers Challenge, Andrea said that Ramsay's tapa was phenomenal despite disliking salmon. She and the red team welcomed Giovanni as a new teammate. When Ramsay revealed that Carol mistook balsamic for soy sauce, she was astounded that the latter did not know the difference between the two sauces. She was the fourth person from the red team to have her dish judged by Ramsay and went up against J. She made an open-faced lobster and asparagus ravioli. Despite having a boring presentation, it had very good flavours. She scored that round over J. The red team won the challenge 3-2, and she was happy to have Giovanni on the red team as the Spice Rack needed more testosterone.

The red team was rewarded with a trip to Hollywood Parks to see a horse race with Ramsay. As the red team went up to change, Andrea thought they were strong now that they had Giovanni on the red team, but the latter retorted that they were only strong together. During the reward, her horse, "Victory's Lady", beat out Ramsay's horse, "Stress-Free", making her happy.

During prep, Andrea said that Giovanni's presence balanced the hormones and thought it was well needed. During dinner service, she was at the appetizer station with Carol. When Carol had an undercooked pasta come back, the former blamed her for that mistake. After finding out Carol did taste the pasta and sent it up despite being raw, Ramsay kicked both the former and her out of the kitchen into the dining room to eat their mistake. Ramsay told the two they would not come back until they finished their dish and she appalling called the pasta undercooked. As the red team cleared down, Carol called her out for the raw pasta incident, but she felt the former pushed all her mistakes onto her. However, Carol argued that she has yet to fess up to her mistakes and if she was leading the kitchen, she would want respect. She said she had everything under control, but that made Carol nearly lose it. Paula defused the argument, telling Carol to get over it. The red team won the service.[7]

Episode 8[]

Main article: Episode 508 - 9 Chefs Compete

Before the Blind Taste Test, Andrea was shocked when LA volunteered quickly and thought the latter second-guessed herself. She was the first person of the red team to compete and she went up against Ben. She correctly guessed fried egg white and beets, but was upset because she put the red team in a position where they must pick up her slack. After Carol's strong performance, she was happy that the former brought the red team back up. The red team won the challenge 8-7, and they were rewarded with a photoshoot for TV Guide in the restaurant, and received makeovers. As the red team went up to get changed, she was happy to get that reward as everyone who went into a grocery store knew what TV Guide was. During the reward, the blue team served the red team lunch due to their reward, and she gleefully said it was like rubbing salt on an open wound. Eventually, the red team had their photoshoot, and she was thrilled to have someone have her face on their coffee table.

During dinner service, Andrea was at the fish station. She expressed concern about having Carol cooking meat as the latter was quick to judge other people and could go down. When Carol promised Ramsay she would try and get it together, she did not believe it and tried to communicate with the former on timings. Carol did not say anything to her, much to her frustration and got more annoyed when Carol walked up the lamb with no warning. As Ramsay asked for the John Dory, she sent it up. However, it was overcooked and rubbery, causing her to blame Carol for letting her sink. Still, Carol coldly said that she should have made a new one. Despite her and Carol's lack of communication, the red team sent out entrées, including Robert Patrick’s table. After the blue team completed service, Ramsay called her out for the rubbery John Dory and closed down the red kitchen. She did not know what happened and called it embarrassing.

The red team lost the service and they were asked to nominate two people for elimination. During deliberation, Carol considered Andrea for nomination, but she nominated the former and LA in response. Carol knew they did not get along and felt it was her opportunity to get rid of her. Although Giovanni felt that she could run a kitchen better than LA, the latter nominated her.

Andrea was not nominated, but Paula admitted that her name was also discussed. Ramsay asked if anyone considered her a potential nominee, and LA and Carol said they did. As such, she joined LA and Carol for elimination. During her plea, Ramsay asked her to mark her performance on a scale from one to ten. She said her performance was a six but argued that she had problems communicating with Carol and was forced to fire three John Dorys to get up to speed. Ramsay asked her who should go home, and she said LA because Carol could take the initiative. Ramsay noted that neither she nor Carol could work peacefully together, but the latter said they get the job done differently. However, Ramsay asked Carol what kitchen she worked in that night. Although Carol wanted her gone due to making excuses for her shortcomings, she survived elimination. While being dismissed, she felt like a caged-up tiger.[8]

Episode 9[]

Main article: Episode 509 - 7 Chefs Compete

Back at the dorms, Andrea confronted Carol for throwing her under the bus on the chopping block, but it led to another argument between the two of them. Carol accused her of not listening to her, and her cutting the former off proved it. An annoyed Giovanni told the two women that they had to work their problems out, but she said it was impossible since they would never get along. Paula voiced her concern that their arguing was killing the red team’s teamwork and warned both her and Carol that they might be back up for elimination if it continued.

Before the Red King Crab Challenge, Andrea listed off chicken noodle soup and chicken ala king as examples of some chicken dishes. When it was revealed they were cooking with red king crab, she said she had never seen a red king crab in person. During the cooking, she knew that Paula asking Ramsay for something was a poor decision. Later, Carol was concerned about her leaving the shells on her dish, but she said it was part of the presentation. Still, Carol knew that if her dish was used, the shell would be the first thing Ramsay would notice. Although she acknowledged that Paula's dish was good, she pushed for her dish to be showcased. Her dish was the red team's representative and she went up against Ben from the blue team. When she brought up her dish, she called it an honor to represent the red team but called it nerve-wracking at the same time. She presented her king crab legs crusted with macadamia nuts, asparagus and pear-infused butter. Still, Ramsay criticized the presentation because of the shells on the plate. Ben compared the presentation to crabs on the run as Ramsay asked her why leave the shells on the crab. She said she wanted to give the customer the full experience of the crab, but Ramsay deshelled the legs and found bones in the meat. Ramsay gave her a shell as earrings, and she called it embarrassing. When Ramsay tasted the dish, he felt it was bland and disgusting.

The red team lost the challenge and they were punished by cleaning both the dorms and kitchens and prep all the king crab for the next night’s dinner service. Before the red team did their punishment, a disappointed Ramsay said he expected more and called Andrea's dish bad. She knew she dropped the ball for the red team and was mad at herself. During the punishment, she got disgusted when Robert told the red team to clean up his boxers. When the red team cleaned the dorms, she wondered how house cleaners could handle the smell, and she was glad she did not have to iron Robert's clothes. Later, the red team cleaned the crabs as Carol complained about getting water inside her gloves. However, she compared Carol's complaint to a five-year-old before commenting on how many crabs there were to clean. In contrast, Carol got annoyed by her constant yacking.

Before dinner service, Ramsay told both teams they would create their own menus. As both teams went back to the dorms, Andrea knew it was their chance to showcase their skills and creativity. When creating their menu, she suggested a salad. During prep, she expressed concern that the gratin dauphinoise would not be ready for service, but a confident Carol said she made them in the last French restaurant she worked at.

During dinner service, Andrea was at the garnish station. When Carol's gratin dauphinoise came out raw, the former tried to say that she had to cook them in the oven first before the orders came. However, Ramsay told Carol that gratin dauphinoise needed to be cooked before service would begin and accused the latter of trying to sabotage her. She got embarrassed for Carol as she knew the latter loved to point out other people's mistakes. When Ramsay dumped the dauphinoise after catching Carol pour hot cream over them, she knew the potatoes were too far gone for salvation. The red team won the dinner service due to having a 54% above average rating from their diners, compared to the blue team's 39%. Back at the dorms, she thought they did not deserve to win as she hoped they would get rid of Carol.

At elimination, Andrea was relieved when Carol was eliminated, even after their team won. While being dismissed, she was relieved that Carol was gone, which meant the red team lost their dead weight.[9]

Episode 10[]

Main article: Episode 510 - 6 Chefs Compete

The next day, both teams went downstairs to meet Ramsay, who asked Paula and Danny who were their weakest chefs on their respective teams. Paula answered Andrea, but she called it a matter of personal opinion. Ramsay called Andrea and Ben down, which shocked Danny as it looked like a surprise elimination. During her pleas, she said she had the talent to back up her leadership qualities and had never given up. After listening to their pleas, Ramsay ordered both of them to take their jackets off. Instead of eliminating either of them, Ramsay gave them black jackets. The rest of the chefs received black jackets as well from Sous Chefs Scott and Gloria. She was relieved as she thought she would have been eliminated for doing nothing.

After learning about the 14 Ingredients Challenge, Andrea called the challenge difficult and decided to make a chicken skewer. She was the first person to have her dish judged by Ramsay and presented her rosemary chicken kebab with rosemary ague and caper tomato sauce. Although Ben called the skewering culinary 101, she knew she was taking a risk for the dish, especially after her poorly made crab dish in the last challenge. While Ramsay noted it tasted better than it looked, there was not a lot of chicken on the plate. She lost the challenge to Ben and was punished by participating in Delivery Day and prep for the following service. During the punishment, she found out they had the correct amount of lobster after a mix up and went to tell Giovanni as he ran after the truck driver.

During dinner service, Andrea was at the garnish station. She was caught getting her garnishes ready before entrées were ready, and she was called out for cooking potatoes in a cold pan. She knew Ramsay kept yelling at her to speed up, but she also knew that speeding up too much would cause a frantic performance. As such, she nearly threw out the potatoes until Ramsay stopped her. Later, Ramsay called out the next order, but when she did not respond, Ramsay confronted her as he was not in the best of moods. Ramsay asked her to repeat what he said, but she could not remember what was called out. Robert knew that garnish must be thirty seconds ahead of the other stations and if she did not know what the tickets were, they were doomed. Ramsay called her out for not knowing what she was doing, which was recurring, and asked everyone else to recite the order. However, everyone stumbled on repeating the order, making Ramsay frustrated that he called out the order again. She still could not recite the order back, which caused Ramsay to eject her out into the dining room. She was about to walk out through the front door, but Jean-Philippe stopped her from leaving and urged her to fight back. She called Hell's Kitchen the most challenging thing she had done and claimed there was no communication from anyone. Still, she wanted to stay as she went through too much to quit now. Jean-Philippe told her to go back to the kitchen and bounce back. She came back to the hot plate, and after correctly reciting the order back, Ramsay allowed her back into the kitchen but told her to wake up. Two hours into service, she brought up her garnishes, but Giovanni did not have his meat ready, causing Ramsay to ask where their teamwork had gone. She felt there was no communication from Giovanni, and when the latter did speak, his stuttering communication did not help matters for her and Robert. That caused Ramsay to pull all three of them aside as he called her out for having no clue that night. Afterwards, she had a pan catch on fire.7

After service was shut down, Ramsay chewed out Andrea for being a disaster. Paula was named "Best of the Worst". During deliberation, Paula thought she and Giovanni were close to how bad they were.

Andrea was Paula's second nominee for elimination, with Giovanni being the first. During deliberation, she said she had given everything she had and claimed that she bounced back from her performances. However, Ramsay asked what kitchen she was in that night based on her poor performance on garnish. She survived elimination. After Giovanni left, she was about to walk back in line with the rest of the chefs, but Ramsay stopped her as he was not done. Ramsay accused the chefs of taking the competition for granted before sending her back in line. While being dismissed, she felt good she was still around but felt that Ramsay would yell at her no matter what she did. At 2:14 am, everyone was in bed sleeping, but a phone call from Ramsay woke up everybody. Ramsay ordered everyone back downstairs, with their jackets on, immediately. Once downstairs, Ramsay stated he was very disappointed in their poor performance and asked how could the final six perform so poorly that night. Afterwards, Ramsay announced that after that night, he was shutting down Hell’s Kitchen, ending the episode in a cliffhanger.[10]

Episode 11[]

Main article: Episode 511 - 5 Chefs Compete

Continuing from the previous episode, Ramsay announced he was shutting down Hell’s Kitchen, much to the shock and disappointment of the final five. However, Ramsay revealed that they would be leaving for Atlantic City to visit the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa for a few days. Everyone was shocked and relieved by the news, and Robert almost fainted from the news. Ramsay said the final five would leave for the hotel tomorrow as he hoped they would see what was at stake. Ramsay urged the chefs to keep their eyes open on their trip because once they returned to Hell's Kitchen, they would be in the final push of the competition. As the final five went up to pack their bags, Andrea felt she had renewed energy.

The following morning, the final five left Hell’s Kitchen and drove down to the airport, where a private jet was waiting for them. Later that night, they arrived in Atlantic City, and the jet turned to show them the hotel. They made their way to the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, where they met Michael Facenda, the Director of Marketing. The greeters smote Robert while Andrea looked for the half-naked men among the group. The following day, the chefs were given a tour of the hotel by Facenda. Then, Facenda reminded them of the grand prize one of them would win, even showing the construction site of what their restaurant would be. That sparked inspiration in all of them, and some began to envision their restaurants on the spot. For the rest of the day, the chefs relaxed at the hotel. Later that evening, the chefs went to the SeaBlue restaurant for dinner. They met VP Food and Beverage Nicholas Kurban and Executive Chef Ron Ross and spoke with them. She asked them about human resources. A few minutes into dinner, Robert excused himself from the table and left, which she noticed. The other chefs did not know that Robert was not feeling well and was having chest pain. Later that night, Robert called Ben and informed him he was at the hospital, saying he had chest pains and the medic was not sure if it was a heart attack. Robert said he would be staying at the hospital overnight, and Ben relayed the news to the other chefs. At 11:35 pm, the remaining four chefs returned to Hell’s Kitchen but were still concerned about Robert's status.

A few days later, Robert came back but announced he was forced to leave due to having pericarditis. She was sad to hear the news because she knew Robert had put his heart and soul into the competition. As Robert left, she joined the three other chefs in the standing ovation.

During the Borgata Signature Dish Challenge, Andrea felt refocused and wanted to make a dish to wow Ramsay. She was the second chef to have her dish judged by Ramsay and wanted to prove to the others she was ready to bury them. She made a green tea-crusted tuna with black sesame rice cake. While dismissed by Ben as a plain sushi dish, it was praised for its build-up and managed to have all of her parts work well together. She won the challenge and was rewarded with immunity for the following service. That made her happy she was in the final three and felt she had come into her own.

Before service, Ramsay reminded Andrea to prove why she deserved her immunity. During dinner service, she was at the fish station. Although she and Danny sent over their appetizers successfully, Jean-Philippe came back with a plate of raw scallops. Ramsay noticed that her did not turn her flat tops on full. When she claimed she did not like to have the flat top on full, Ramsay accused her of slowing the kitchen down and ordered her to speed up. Ramsay warned her not to let her immunity go to her head, and her subsequent attempt came out overcooked. She was lost for words at that moment. Later, Paula asked her for a time to send her Wellingtons, but she revealed she needed four minutes on her salmon. Ramsay told Paula to send her Wellingtons despite her slow performance, even though the latter did not want to do so. When Ramsay brought up the low temperature of the hot plate again, she claimed she was moving as fast as she could. Some time after, Jean-Philippe sent back a raw salmon to the kitchen, which displeased her as she did not like her food being sent back. Despite getting overwhelmed by fish orders, Ramsay was more upset that she was not communicating properly. Even Danny said that fish was the easiest station and felt she could not lead. Then, she struggled to tell Ben to fire garnishes, leading Ramsay to warn her not to mess around with her immunity. She struggled and had to refire two John Dory orders when they broke. That caused Ramsay to order Danny to help her out. Danny was irritated for helping her out since she was immune, and she sent up two raw John Dories to the pass. That caused Ramsay to accuse her of trying to sabotage everybody else due to being safe. She argued she was not, but she also burned her tuna, much to her dismay. Danny felt that she got lucky with her immunity, while she knew her performance was terrible.

After service. Ramsay asked the final four to name two people for elimination. During deliberation, Ben told Andrea that if she were not immune, she would be up for elimination due to her poor performance, to which Danny agreed.

Because of her immunity, Andrea was not nominated for elimination. When she announced Paula as the second nominee, she claimed it was based on her lack of communication. However, Ramsay called her down in place of Paula, joining Ben. Ramsay singled her out as the worst performer for failing to control her station, along with being the reason Ben had a bad night. Despite that, Ramsay told her she was immuned as he was a man of his word and sent her back in line, therefore surviving elimination. Still, Ramsay warned her she would have been eliminated had it not been for her immunity. While being dismissed, she frustratingly called her performance embarrassing as she knew she gave everything in the competition.[11]

Back in the dorms, Andrea agreed with Paula that she needed to fight back after her poor performance during the previous service.

During the Taste It Now Make It Challenge, Andrea used halibut, bay scallops, fish stock, and sambuca to recreate Ramsay's Italian Fish Stew. However, she only got the fish stock correct and was ruled out of the top two for using bay scallops. She lost the challenge to Danny and was forced to work with Jean-Philippe in polishing the crystal ware, shampooing the carpets, and prepping for that night’s service. During the punishment, she stated that she felt drained due to the late nights and early mornings, even stating that she missed her family, friends, and personal life. While prepping for service, she snapped at Ben and wanted to revolt by leaving Hell's Kitchen. Despite her poor attitude, she decided to stay and wanted to do her best.

During dinner service, Andrea was on the meat station. Her first few Wellingtons came out perfectly and she was doing well at the beginning. However, near the end, she realized that she was short of two Wellingtons for the rest of the service, much to the others’ dismay. Danny and Paula managed to make two new Wellingtons from scratch but told they would need fifteen minutes to cook them, causing Ramsay to tell Andrea that she fucked up their perfect service.

After service, the team was asked to nominate one person for elimination. During their discussion, Danny asked Andrea if she ever led a brigade before, and while she said she did, she hesitated when he asked for the number of people.

At elimination, the team could not come to a consensus, revealing they hesitated between two people. Andrea was one of them, along with Ben. She survived elimination.[12]

Immediately after elimination, Andrea was surprised when her mother and cousin came to visit her, and it managed to spark her motivation back up.

During the 100 Portions Challenge, Andrea made a chicken roulade pejuit with micro basil and garlic, but lost to Paula. Her punishment was to clean the dining room and reset it for their next service the following night, while having to participate in Laundry Day, along with Danny. During the punishment, she noticed Danny feeling down about his dish being voted the worst, and hoped to use it to her advantage.

During dinner service, Andrea was on the fish station. At one point, her scallops were rejected by Danny for being overcooked. After that, she ran the pass as the third and last person to do it that night. She was immediately vocal with everyone, which caused food to leave the kitchen at a fast pace. Her first quality control test came when Sous Chef Scott sent up halibut instead of John Dory, and she failed to notice it until Ramsay told her. Determined not to let that mistake happen again, she became more extremely nit-picky with everyone’s dishes and was very aggressive with Sous Chef Scott, who got angry by that, calling her a stupid cunt and wanting to punch her in the face. After service, all three remaining contestants were asked to nominate one person who they do not believe would belong in the finals.

Andrea nominated Danny and received votes from her two teammates. She was eliminated, but before she left, Ramsay praised her hard work and told her she was a determined fighter. During her exit interview, she received a retrospective montage of her run. Ramsay gave no comment on Andrea's elimination, and she did not receive the coat hanging and burning picture sequence until the following episode.[13]

During the season recap, Andrea received the coat hanging and burning picture sequence for the first time since her elimination.

Andrea was one of the six returning contestants who came back for the final dinner service. When she came back into the kitchen, Ramsay reminded her about the time she burned tuna during the second black jacket service. She was Paula's first pick, followed by LA and Lacey.[14] Back in the dorms, she expressed concern for Lacey's performance to be, due to the latter's poor attitude in the past, and urged her to at least give some effort during that final night.

During dinner service, Andrea was on the meat and fish stations. Her first attempt at the scallops was burnt on one side, and her first attempt on the halibut came out overcooked, which realized Ramsay’s biggest fear that he warned Paula about earlier that day. Then, she became flustered and confused, even asking Paula to come down to the fish station and check on the halibut at one point. Paula eventually lost the finals to Danny.[15]

Quotes[]

  • "I will be joining them, I will be next to those big boys. The prize is mine, that's mine!"
  • (During punishment) "This is not going to break me. This is far worse than anything Ramsay could ever fucking say to me. This is what happens when we don't work as a team. We wind up eating fucking shit together, OK? Y'all gotta step up. I'm saying that to every single one of you and I'm saying it to myself, too. I know that cow inside and out, I know those cuts inside and out, and here we fucking sit. I'm so fucking humiliated right now."
  • "I am a force to be reckoned with. I have a loud voice, and I have loud thoughts."
  • "People are pretty shocked when I put on my assertive panties."
  • (To Carol) "You know what, Carol? Fuck you. No more help."
  • (While in the pass) "Christmas is coming! I need it now!"
  • (After being eliminated) "Hell's Kitchen for me has been one intense ride. I have given everything that I possibly could. I definitely have been through some gnarly moments. But that's what life is about. It's about figuring who you are, how much you can take, how much you've grown. I came. I performed. I gave it my best, and I'm taking the bronze home as far as I'm concerned. I leave with no bitter taste in my mouth. I leave with no regrets whatsoever."
